England & Wales

Young England & Wales Programme

The Young England and Wales Programme (established in 2004) exists to develop the communication skills and broaden the horizons of people in the early stages of their working lives. It does so through an annual series of residential courses, each of three days' duration, in which delegates are encouraged to think and talk freely about the big issues facing us as a society. Through discussion and dialogue, the personal testimonies of inspiring speakers, and the delegates' own presentations on questions of 'current interest or controversy', the programme helps to build confidence, stimulate debate, and increase awareness of the world around us. The minimum age for entry is 18, but there is no upper age-limit: the Young England and Wales Programme is open to anyone in the formative years of their career, irrespective of age.

The Venue

In 2026, all Young England and Wales Programmes will be held at Wychwood Park Hotel in Crewe. Set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, the hotel is a stylish venue with modern amenities. Conference facilities feature contemporary design, natural light and spacious breakout areas.

The hotel is situated just off Junction 16 on the M6 and there is ample free parking (400 spaces), with several chargers for electric vehicles. The nearest railway station is Crewe, which is on the West Coast Main Line, and the hotel is about 10 minutes (depending on traffic) by taxi from the station.
