Dr Marwan Toma, winner of the Inveramsay Medal 2005 with Caroline Wyatt, Paris correspondent of the BBC. Marwan – a gifted Iraqi doctor – was an asylum seeker at the time this photograph was taken. We know he subsequently had to leave the country, having been refused permission to remain. Has anyone heard what happened to him?
